Molecular docking study of hyaluronic acid against interleukin-6 (7DC8 protein) in COVID-19 patients with periodontitis

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new caused by coronavirus, namely SARS-CoV-2. This virus was entered inside the host angiotensin-converting enzyme receptors (ACE2). Recent evidence suggests that sulcus fluid in periodontal pockets of patients with periodontitis may be source SARS-CoV-2 and potential reservoir for increasing oral viral load confirmed COVID-19. ACE-2 expressed stratified squamous epithelium mainly on dorsal tongue gingiva. The gingival sulcular entry point into pocket through crevicular (GCF). Hyaluronic acid (HA) high molecule heavy polysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) which has several functions, such as anti-inflammatory accelerated wound healing. It could decrease levels cytokines. study aims to analyze interaction HA against IL-6 coronavirus receptor molecular docking using MOE 2015.10 software (7DC8) protein model predict binding 10 poses. 7DC8 prepared adding charge validation method performed RMSD <2Å indicates this valid. results showed there are between via amino residue at Leucine 98 (bond energy -0.7 kcal/mol), Serine 52 -1.7 Glycine 53 -1.5 299 -1.6 kcal/mol). an based can potentially used therapeutic option COVID-19 periodontitis.
